Canon EOS R6, with high-performance CMOS sensor and DIGIC X image processor, supports H.265 in 4K cinematic video. It is designed to meet the demands of both photographers and video content creators. An EOS R6 user came to us and ask help for video recovery sevice, let us see what was going on.
The client sent us a DAT file in size of 21 GB, which was recorded by Canon EOS R6, the very new model of EOS camera, it should be a MP4 video file, but the client replaceed the battery without stopping the recording, it came to a DAT file instead of MP4 video. The DAT file can’t be play or converted by any software. The client want to know if any luck from us for recovering the DAT file.
We checked the code of Canon DAT file, it was recorded in H.265 codec and 4K resolution. Canon supports H.265 from EOS R5 and R6, we have analyzed the video code of new model of Canon EOS R5 and R6 and figured out the solution for recovering the damaged video file. For the 21 GB DAT file we recovered the H.265 DAT file to MP4 without any problems.
